This unique gemstone naturally appears as a strong deep opaque blue, sometimes with hints of violet and small veins of pyrite that shimmer in the light. Lapis lazuli has a rich history, where it’s been found in jewellery pieces amongst ancient excavation sites in Egypt, Iran, Greece and Italy. In ancient Europe the colour of lapiz lazuli was referred to as an ‘ultramarine’, which means ‘from beyond the sea’. In addition to our exclusive Donna Luna lapiz lazuli jewellery collection, Vivah offers synthetic and reconstituted lapis gemstones which beautifully mimics the true luster of the genuine stone.
